En juin 2006, S.A.S le Prince Albert II de Monaco a décidé de créer Sa Fondation afin de répondre aux menaces préoccupantes qui pèsent sur l’environnement de notre planète.

 

La Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco (FPA2) œuvre pour la protection de l’environnement et la promotion du développement durable à l’échelle mondiale. La Fondation soutient les initiatives d’organisations publiques.

Message de S.A.S. le Prince Albert II de Monaco à l'occasion du World Oceans Day

En cette journée spéciale dédiée aux océans, S.A.S. le Prince Albert II de Monaco nous rappelle leur importance dans la construction du monde d’après :

« Alors que notre monde prend conscience de ses fragilités, alors que chacun s’interroge sur la manière de réinventer nos économies et nos sociétés, nous devons tous nous mobiliser pour que les océans soient au coeur du monde qu’il nous faut reconstruire ».

Message de S.A.S. le Prince Albert II de Monaco à l'occasion du World Environment Day

En cette journée mondiale de l’environnement, S.A.S. le Prince Albert II de Monaco adresse un message d’unité et de mobilisation, exprimant Son souhait « que nous puissions tirer les enseignements de cette crise et des changements très rapides qu’elle a suscité », alors que nous avons désormais conscience de notre fragilité.
Des changements plus profonds, voulus et non subis, doivent être accomplis « pour notre climat, pour notre Planète, pour sa biodiversité, y compris dans les océans », nécessitant « la mobilisation de chacun, par nos choix, par nos gestes quotidiens ».

Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council, reminds us that « one of the main lessons of this pandemic is that water availability is the best protective measure  » also inviting us to « think of the 500,000 children who die every year from diarrhoea and the 2 million people from malaria ». « At a time when so much money is being mobilized around the world, we must ensure that essential human rights are respected. » such as water, health, food, among the main ones.

But it is also about ensuring farmers prosperity, supply chain resilience, food security, and it’s about sustainable diets. To achieve those goals, we need to revert to more local and traditional ways to produce food, which are respectful to the planet, to the animals and to the farmers. «
