Andrew Campbell, CEO of Game Rangers’ Association of Africa reminds us that « This is the perfect opportunity to recognise the essential services that rangers provide in conservation. Without them conservation would not be possible, and we need to recognise that and work to improve their wellbeing to ensure that conservation becomes sustainable. »

Francesca Thyssen, Philanthropist and Founder of TBA21, invites us to think about « how we’ve become so much more focused but united at the same time, throughout this period of isolation » and « how productive can we be by staying in one place and by reducing our carbon footprint as a result ».

Zoe Jewell and Sky Alibhai, co-founders of WildTrack, remind us how « Over the planet, Species are in trouble. For example, there are only 5,000 black rhinos left and Giant Panda fewer than 2,000 animals. Their habitat is shrinking », highlighting that  » Local communities around the world, people who live in close contact with wildlife, are the key to sustainable wildlife conservation. »

Une mission exceptionnelle d’écoute du milieu marin pendant le confinement dans le sanctuaire Pelagos en Méditerranée.

Afin de saisir cette occasion historique de pouvoir caractériser le milieu marin dans un état de faible pollution acoustique, Sphyrna Odyssey a réalisé, entre le 23 avril et le 10 mai 2020, la mission Quiet Sea. Cette nouvelle mission, lancée en un temps record, a bénéficié du soutien de la Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, illustrant en cela son engagement permanent, et toujours ouvert sur l’innovation, et l’amélioration des connaissances de l’océan afin d’en assurer une meilleure préservation.

Le professeur Rockström est un scientifique de renommée mondiale sur les questions de développement durable. Actuellement Directeur de l’Institut de recherche sur l’impact du changement climatique de Potsdam, il intervient également en qualité de conseiller spécialiste du développement durable lors de réunions internationales, comme le Forum économique mondial, le Réseau de solutions pour le développement durable des Nations unies (SDSN) et les conférences de la Convention-cadre des Nations unies sur les changements climatiques (CCNUCC).
