Since the ban of commercial whaling in the Southern Ocean in 1986, little data exist on the current status of the cetacean population. The expensive cost of surveys and extreme weather conditions make research in Antarctic waters difficult. ???

In 2019, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, sent 5 researchers to the South Shetland Islands to conduct a 20-day cetacean visual and acoustic survey.

This study aims to develop pioneering acoustic research methods, to correlate the presence of cetaceans with the evolution of environmental conditions and finally, to establish a diagnosis of new threats to these species.

Au nord du Togo ??, 1000 familles en zone rurale isolée du réseau électrique ont été équipées de lampes solaires pour soutenir leurs activités quotidiennes. Ils bénéficient désormais d’un éclairage performant et écologique qui leur permet d’améliorer leurs conditions de vie.

In the North Togolese region, 1000 families living in isolation from the national electrical network, were equipped with solar lamps to sustain their daily activities. They now have a powerful and eco-friendly lighting source which improves their living conditions. ?♻️

Une mission exceptionnelle d’écoute du milieu marin pendant le confinement dans le sanctuaire Pelagos en Méditerranée.

Afin de saisir cette occasion historique de pouvoir caractériser le milieu marin dans un état de faible pollution acoustique, Sphyrna Odyssey a réalisé, entre le 23 avril et le 10 mai 2020, la mission Quiet Sea. Cette nouvelle mission, lancée en un temps record, a bénéficié du soutien de la Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, illustrant en cela son engagement permanent, et toujours ouvert sur l’innovation, et l’amélioration des connaissances de l’océan afin d’en assurer une meilleure préservation.
