New IUM Expert Interview: Prof. Lilian Ng on Biodiversity & Finance In this insightful conversation, we sat down with Prof. Lilian Ng, Professor of Finance and Scotiabank Chair in International Finance, to explore how biodiversity is rapidly becoming a critical frontier in global finance. Friends since the start of their university career back in 2016, Vadim Evseev and Maurits Spaan have taken upon themselves to redefine the restaurant industry in Monaco.
◾ “Our company was founded because we experienced various mistakes at restaurants and bars in Monaco, and we believed we weren’t the only ones. So instead of waiting for a change to happen, we decided to be the change! Thus, the idea for Appetizr was born.”
? Appetizr is a SaaS startup from Monaco providing contactless QR code ordering and paying solutions for food catering businesses.

The Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge began in 2018 as a collaboration between 4 partners dedicated to ocean protection and awareness: The Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, Monaco Impact, The International University of Monaco, and The Fondation Prince Albert II. The aim of the MOPC as a whole is to provide young students and entrepreneurs the opportunities and skills to succeed in building sustainable businesses for a better world and share the core values that the Principality of Monaco has endorsed for more than a century.
