#MEBC2026 Electra Tide- Communication Prize
🇫🇷 Meet Electra Tide – Energy Class
A brand-new team from EIGSI La Rochelle, an engineering school built on its deep connection to the ocean. Around fifteen students, first-ever participation at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
Their electric catamaran is driven by a philosophy of reuse and collaboration: a streamlined central pod inspired by the Eco-Shell Marathon, a lightweight aluminium frame, and a propulsion system powered by repurposed batteries. Proof that a simple, local, collaborative approach can meet international engineering standards.
A new team to watch on the water.

#MEBC2026 UGent – Communication Prize
🇧🇪 Meet UGent Sailing – AI Class, N°37
From Ghent University, this team is organised into five focused sub-teams — Construction, Electrical, Energy, Design and Autonomous — letting every student contribute where their strengths lie while working toward one shared goal.
Their entry: an energy-efficient electric boat powered by two motors in a differential setup, guided by an AI-driven autonomous system with state-of-the-art machine learning for navigation. Built for research, environmental monitoring and ecosystem protection — where efficiency and manoeuvrability matter most.

#MEBC2026 PolyBoat Nantes – Communication Prize
🇫🇷 Meet PolyBoat Nantes – Energy Class, N°15
A young but fast-growing team from Polytech Nantes (Université de Nantes), PolyBoat Nantes has quadrupled in size since 2025 — from 8 to 24 members — all focused on sustainable marine propulsion. Back for their second MEBC after learning hard lessons on reliability in 2025, the team is refining battery use and hydrogen coupling, adding a new four-foil system, and integrating 2m² of flexible solar panels embedded directly into the boat’s structure. Lighter, more efficient, built to last the distance.

#MEBC2026 Powergoats – Communication Prize
🇵🇱 Meet POWERgoats – AI Class, N°34
From the PUT Powertrain Interfaculty Scientific Club at Poznań University of Technology, POWERgoats bring POWERboat to Port Hercule — a solar and fuel-cell foiling boat built entirely in-house across mechanics, electronics, IT, and design.
Hydrofoils cut drag, a hidden basalt-fibre cockpit reduces weight, and an adaptive powertrain with active solar-cell monitoring keeps performance optimised on and off the water. Engineers of the future, racing today.

#MEBC2026 InnoBoat Bizkaia – Communication Prize
🇪🇸 Meet InnoBoat Bizkaia – Energy Class, N°11
From the Bilbao School of Engineering at the University of the Basque Country, InnoBoat Bizkaia is back with Vilson, a lightweight electric racing boat built on the lessons of their earlier solar prototype, Delta One.
After finishing 9th in 2025, the team shifts focus this year from hardware to system intelligence: Copernicus-based route planning, a conversational AI assistant, and a custom in-house lithium-ion powertrain. Solar panels have also been added to extend range and ease battery demand.Zero emissions, sharper handling, smarter systems.

#MEBC2026 Cambridge University Riviera Racing – Communication Prize
🇬🇧 Meet Cambridge University Riviera Racing – Energy Class, N°5
Now in their third year at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, Riviera Racing has evolved from a student startup project into a performance-focused racing team.
For 2026, they’re bringing custom propeller geometries designed with computational software, space-grade solar panels paired with an MPPT converter for smarter energy harvesting, and a fully modular electronics system with swappable microcontroller boards. A digital twin of the boat even assists the pilot with real-time decisions on the water. Engineers, designers and project leaders — one goal: proving clean maritime tech can be both fast and efficient.
