In Cambodia, rural communities combat drowning by educating their children.

The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation supports the Child drowning prevention programme run by Helpcode with the technical assistance of SWIM Cambodia.

The international organisation Helpcode strives to ensure that all children have the protection of a family and a community and helps them to grow and express their potential within a quality school.

According to the World Health Organization, drowning is a silent epidemic in Cambodia, responsible for approximately 5 deaths every day. Children under the age of 9 are the primary victims.

That is why this programme seeks to raise awareness among the young individuals and families in Phnom Penh and the Sihanoukville Province about prevention measures, by improving the safety and knowledge of children close to the water.

Since 2020, more than 1000 youth learned about drowning prevention measures.

Throwback to the Emirates Dubai 7s Tournament in December 2021, in which the Umusa and Impi’s teams participated to represent the Monaco Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

For the first time, both men’s and women’s teams held high the colors of the Principality in Dubai, during one of the most iconic Rugby 7 events in the world.

The Riviera Water Bike Challenge 2022 was held on Sunday, June 5th in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella.

A total of 95 people participated in this race, including 41 sports celebrities.

The goal of the Riviera Water Bike Challenge is to offer an original and friendly sporting challenge to raise funds for the prevention of drowning. This year, the funds raised will finance the « Swim for Safety » project supported by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation in Sri Lanka, to teach swimming and water safety to disadvantaged children.

Ce lundi, environ 5700 élèves et 872 membres du personnel vont faire leur rentrée scolaire. Le Commissaire Général chargé de la Direction de l’Éducation Nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports, Isabelle Bonnal, a dévoilé ce soir, à l’occasion d’une conférence de presse au Lycée Albert Ier, les mesures et ambitions de cette année à venir.
